SUNY ESF Sweeps 2025 Cross Country National Championship
UNIONTOWN, Pa. (Nov. 8, 2025)
Women's Cross Country
SUNY-ESF took five of the top six spots and scored a perfect 15 points to win the 2025 USCAA Women’s Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning at Penn State Fayette.
Maura O’Brien topped a 1-2-3 finish for SUNY-ESF winning the 6k race in 24:29.80, almost 30 seconds ahead of teammate Margaret Ryan who was second in 24:57.10. Sophia DePierro rounded out the top three running a 25:00.60 for third place.
Carlow took second in the team race with 81 points as Laci Schwirian took home first team All-American honors with a seventh-place finish.
Christendom was third with 89 points, followed by Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (97), Penn State Schuylkill (109) and Paul Smith’s College (126).

Men's Cross Country
SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) completed a fifth-straight sweep of the USCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon winning the men’s 8k race scoring 33 points in the meet held at Penn State Fayette.
Aidan Watts and Eric Wilson were first team All-American selections finishing third and fourth respectively. Watts covered the 8k course in 29:26.50 and Wilson in 29:27.40.
Eliot Soderholm of Paul Smith’s College won the individual medalist in 27:46.60 as Eli Lemire of NHTI was second in 27:53.40.
NHTI was second in the team race with 86 points, followed by Christendom (88), Williamson College of the Trades (108), Paul Smith’s College (112), Penn State DuBois (117) and Penn State Schuylkill (141).
