Central Maine CC Captures Women's DII National Championship
Central Maine CC 63 Penn State Schuykill 35
Central Maine CC used a dominant second half as they raced to a 63-35 victory over Penn State Schuykill in the USCAA Division II Championship. Schuykill took an early lead but Central Maine bounced back and held a 16-14 lead after the 1 st quarter. They added to their lead in the 2 nd and led 30-23 at the break. CMCC put the game out of reach with a dominant third quarter where they held a 17 to 4 advantage. Myah Nicolas led the Mustangs balanced attack with 13 points off the bench. Kali Thompson also finished in double figures with 10. 11 players registered points in the contest. Desiree Ellison and Alyssa Gerber each finished with nine points for the Lions. The Mustangs shot 31.3% for the game, was 8 for 31 from three, and hit 13 of their 17 foul shots. They forced the Lions into 30 turnovers.
